How to Remove Different Stains from Your Garments

  August 27, 2020

Nothing is more painful than seeing stains on your favorite dress. We understand your pain. So, we have brought some simple tips to help your remove different stains from your garments.

Oil Stains

There are many ways to remove oil stains from your garments.

Oil stains may go with rubbing alcohol. Apply a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the stain and then rub the stained area gently. However, before applying the liquid on the stained area, you should test for colorfastness on the area of your dress that will not be visible when you put on your dress. If liquid does not impact the color, you can apply the liquid to the stained area. If the stain disappears with the stain, wash the garment in the hottest water.

Another way to remove oil stain from your garment is the warm iron method. Sandwich the stained area of your dress between two paper towels and then iron the stained area. The oil will be released to the paper towels. Now, wash your garment usually you do.

Ink Stains

Rubbing alcohol can be useful to remove ink stains from your garments, too. Apply the liquid on the stained area and rub that area gently. In place of rubbing alcohol, you can use an alcohol-based hair spray, too. Once the stain is removed, wash the garment in the hot water. However, before applying either one, perform colorfastness test. If you find the liquid does not impact the color, use the liquid on your dress.

Coffee Stains

There are two ways to deal with coffee stains. If your garment is white, bleach powder can be quite useful for you. Soak the garment in water and then apply a little amount of bleach powder on the stain. Rub the stained area and the stain should go. Once the stain goes, wash the garment in hot water. If your dress is colorful, you should use vinegar for it. Take one spoon of vinegar in a bowl and then add four parts of water to it. Rub the stained area gently and then leave the garment for a few minutes. Wash the dress as you usually do. The stain should go.

However, if your dress is expensive and you don’t want to take a chance, schedule a pick-up with laundry services in Vancouver. They will collect your dress, remove the stains, wash it properly, and deliver it to you at your home.
